The DPR800 power swing detector is designed to operate on AC railway networks. It analyses the evolution of substation currents and voltages and detects any pulsations which may be attributed to power swing. Power swings may be caused by locomotives braking, accelerating or several locomotives operating in one small section of the network. The DPR800 includes a disturbance recorder and stores events in the COMTRADE format.
These relays are part of the NP800 range, offering multi-function protection and communication via Modbus RTU (RS485) or Modbus TCP (Ethernet). A full brochure is available both on the NP800 range page and on the Railway Industry page.
