Fault Locator for Catenaries: LDN2
The LDN2 is designed to help maintain networks employing catenary feeders, specifically for railway applications.  It measures the distance to a fault appearing on a railway line, at the time of tripping. Therefore, preventive maintenance is greatly enhanced.

Main functions:
Based on an ANSI 21 (Under-Impedance calculation), it indicates the distance to a fault, reported in either kilometers or as belonging to one of four user-defined zones of protection.
Modeling of the line is “Linear” or “Customised”
2 setting groups are available for two line configurations.

ANSI function codes:
21FL / 74 / (27 under-voltage is an alarm only)

These relays are part of the NP800 range, offering multi-function protection and communication via Modbus (RS485) or Modbus TCP (Ethernet).  A full brochure is available both on the NP800 range page and on the Railway Industry page.
