Displaying Cable Damage Curves

Sometimes CAPTOR doesn't display the cable damage curves. The reason for this is probably because CAPTOR uses the cross-sectional area in circular mills to calculate the cable damage curve. If your cable library does not have any information about CSA in circular mills, then the curve will not plot.

To enter the circular mills information, open up the cable library (Document>>Library), single-click on the Standard Cable library and then move the mouse towards the right of the screen (which will be blank). Right-mouse click and then select Cable Circular Mills Table. This will bring up the table that converts between whatever units your library model uses and circular mills (there are 1,974 circular mills in a square millimetre). Another way to view the Circular Mills spreadsheet is from the General tab of the cable library model itself.

It's also important to check the units that are being used. Each cable can be defined in metric or imperial units (under the General tab). Each project can also use either metric or imperial units (Project>>Options>>Application). It is better to be consistent and use only one set of units.
