As explained on page 54 of the commissioning instructions, when a GMS7000 series relay trips or alarms, the relay will show TRIP or ALARM followed by the electrical quantity that caused the relay to operate (with the exception of field failure / loss of excitation or overfluxing). One press of the "ACK" acknowledge key will then display the value of the electrical quantity that caused the trip. Pressing the acknowledge key a second time will return the relay to the "read" mode.

Please note: if several trip conditions occur in succession, it is the last trip condition which will be recorded.  
If an alarm is followed by a trip (without being acknowledged) the trip will overwrite the alarm on the display.
