CAPTOR Study Module
CAPTOR produces time versus current co-ordination
drawings complete with single-line
diagrams and setting reports. It lets you co-ordinate protective devices with
interactive
on-screen graphics, and provides a library of about 4,000 devices. You
can
select to print on pre-printed graph paper or on plain
paper. CAPTOR can be used on any electrical power
system including utility, industrial, commercial, nuclear, and
petrochemical facilities. Devices may be plotted at any
voltage, current or application frequency.
A comprehensive library containing protective devices from popular equipment
manufacturers is included. CAPTOR's advanced device modelling and curve fitting
techniques make library additions fast and easy.
CAPTOR has easy, built-in methods for adding devices to the program library. The
library includes models for overcurrent relays, static trip
breakers, moulded case breakers, motor starting, cable damage, transformer
damage, motor circuit protectors, earth fault relays, static motor protection,
motor overloads, and speciality devices for unusual time current curves. CAPTOR
uses advanced curve-fitting methods to generate smooth curves for device
modelling. These methods produce curves that exactly match the manufacturers'
published data. The user expandable library includes devices by
CEE, Alstom, ABB, Merlin Gerin, Westinghouse,
General Electric, S&C, Bussmann, BBC, ITE, Square D, Shawmut, ASEA and many others.
